Prophets are of all times. What are they calling for? And which prophet do you follow?
The scientists, the (self-proclaimed) sages, the spreaders of (fake) news. Daily articles, conversations at the table in talk shows, programs on TV and opinions via social media. At the same time, for their statements, they are followed, admired but also condemned and even threatened or killed.
Was that different more than 2000 years ago? A prophet is not always honored in his own time or country. Sometimes people see the value of certain claims centuries later. Or their insights evaporate with time.
In this Way of the Cross, the texts from the Old Testament are still alive. I add a contemporary text: "Close me in your heart for a moment." * A call for compassion for all those who died due to violence, war, corona or other diseases. Every human being counts. You are only dead when no one speaks of you or thinks about you anymore.
